The auction generated 294 total bids, with an average buyer price of $19.93 and a median buyer price of $13.80, including the Fanatics Collect buyer’s premium.

A PSA 10 Junior Caminero rookie led the auction by a wide margin and the 2026 Topps Finest results gave us a good look at which players collectors are currently favoring in one of Topps’ newest sets. Cam Schlittler, Bryce Eldridge, Jac Caglianone, Jackson Chourio, Bobby Witt Jr., Konnor Griffin, Paul Skenes, and several others all produced notable results from the product.

Top Auction Results

2024 Topps Heritage Junior Caminero Rookie #267 PSA 10 Gem Mint

Hammer price: $140
Buyer price: $168
Bids: 24

Junior Caminero delivered the clear top result of Weekly Auction #243, with his 2024 Topps Heritage Rookie PSA 10 Gem Mint reaching a $140 hammer price and $168 buyer price on 24 bids.

It was also the most actively bid-on card in the entire auction.

The result nearly tripled the $54 hammer price of his 2024 Topps Chrome Rookie PSA 10 from last week’s auction, giving us another useful comparison between different rookie issues of the same player.

Caminero entered September with a .282/.369/.536 line and has continued to show the power profile that has made him one of the more productive young hitters in baseball this season.

2026 Finest Mini-Diamond Refractor Cam Schlittler Rookie #89 CGC 10 Gem Mint

Hammer price: $66
Buyer price: $79.20
Bids: 12

Cam Schlittler finished second overall with his 2026 Finest Mini-Diamond Refractor Rookie CGC 10 Gem Mint reaching a $79.20 buyer price on 12 bids.

The Mini-Diamond Refractor finish gave the card some additional separation within a Finest-heavy lineup, while the CGC 10 grade kept condition out of the equation.

Schlittler has been one of the breakout pitchers of the 2026 season, carrying a 14-6 record, 1.95 ERA, 220 strikeouts and 0.92 WHIP through 31 starts.

2026 Finest Bryce Eldridge Rookie #138 CGC 10 Gem Mint

Hammer price: $47
Buyer price: $56.40
Bids: 7

Bryce Eldridge finished third overall at a $56.40 buyer price on seven bids.

Although this was not a Mini-Diamond Refractor like Schlittler’s, the card carries an Uncommon designation within the Finest checklist, giving it some added distinction within the rookie base set.

Eldridge has also been gaining momentum on the field. After a more uneven start to his first full season, he has been particularly strong in September, hitting .333/.435/.556 with a .991 OPS so far this month.

His season line now sits at .267 with 16 home runs and an .815 OPS as he continues to settle into his big-league career.

2026 Finest Arrivals Jac Caglianone Rookie #A-1 CGC 10 Pristine

Hammer price: $29
Buyer price: $34.80
Bids: 7

Jac Caglianone’s 2026 Finest Arrivals Rookie CGC Pristine 10 reached a $34.80 buyer price on seven bids.

The Finest Arrivals rookie insert gave the card a different look from the standard Finest rookie cards in the auction, while the Pristine 10 grade provided an additional point of distinction.

After a difficult first taste of the majors in 2025, Caglianone has broken out in 2026 and was named AL Player of the Month for August after hitting .411/.429/.684 with six home runs and 26 RBIs.

He is now hitting .283 with 23 home runs, 70 RBIs and an .825 OPS on the season.

2026 Finest Mini-Diamond Refractor Jackson Chourio #175 CGC 10 Gem Mint

Hammer price: $27
Buyer price: $32.40
Bids: 17

Jackson Chourio rounded out the top five with his 2026 Finest Mini-Diamond Refractor CGC 10 Gem Mint finishing at a $32.40 buyer price.

More notable than the final price was the activity: 17 bids made it the second-most actively contested card in the entire auction, behind only Caminero.

Like Schlittler’s card, the Mini-Diamond Refractor finish helped distinguish it from the standard Finest cards in the lineup, while the CGC 10 grade added another layer of collectibility.

Chourio has continued to look like one of the stronger young stars in the league and has been especially hot in September. Through the current month, he is hitting .417/.420/.688 with three home runs and a 1.108 OPS.

Broad Range of Results

Auction #243 covered a wide range of price points.

Of the 66 sold listings, 59 finished at buyer prices of $30 or less, including 40 at $18 or less, while the top of the auction stretched all the way to $168 for Junior Caminero.

For a brand-new modern set, the results were pretty encouraging. Buyers were clearly interested in the product, but prices generally remained accessible rather than immediately running away. From a collecting standpoint, that is a healthy balance: there was enough demand to create real competition, but still plenty of room to participate without chasing every card into premium territory.

That balance showed up throughout the auction. Collectors picked up cards of Derek Jeter, Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr., Paul Skenes, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Ronald Acuña Jr., Peyton Manning, Emmitt Smith, and several other recognizable names across a variety of price points.

Arthur’s Market Notes & Insights

Now for the fun part: interpreting the results.

Auction #243 was particularly useful because one product made up such a large portion of the lineup.

With 44 different 2026 Finest cards sold, we got a much broader look than usual at how collectors separated rookies, veterans, parallels, inserts, and grades within the same release.

Finest Had Depth, but Collectors Were Selective

The 44 Finest cards generated a combined $855.60 in buyer value.

The strongest results generally came from Mini-Diamond Refractors, select inserts, and the better-performing rookie names, while standard base cards were much more mixed.

The 10 Mini-Diamond Refractors averaged a $25.68 buyer price, led by Cam Schlittler at $79.20, Jackson Chourio at $32.40, Bobby Witt Jr. at $26.40, and Paul Skenes and Pete Crow-Armstrong at $25.20.

Inserts and specialty cards were also highly player-dependent. Jac Caglianone’s Finest Arrivals Pristine 10 reached $34.80 and Bobby Witt Jr.’s World’s Finest Pristine 10 finished at $32.40, while several others remained closer to the lower end.

A few rookies also performed well. Bryce Eldridge reached $56.40, while Konnor Griffin and JJ Wetherholt posted solid results, but many other base cards finished in the $10–$15 range or lower.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. provided one of the more revealing comparisons of the week.

His World’s Finest Orange Refractor /25 CGC 10 finished at $25.20, while his Mini-Diamond Refractor CGC 10 reached $21.60.

In theory, the pricing hierarchy should be fairly straightforward. Two cards from the same set carrying the same grade start on relatively equal footing. A parallel should generally command a little more, a higher-numbered parallel a little more still, and a low-numbered parallel even more.

That makes the narrow gap between these cards stand out.

Following that logic, one of two things likely happened: either the Mini-Diamond was valued aggressively, or somebody got a very good deal on the Orange /25.

Time will tell which interpretation proves closer to reality, but player performance and expectations may be part of the reason the market was less decisive here. Guerrero has built a strong track record over his career, but his 2026 season has been relatively disappointing compared with the standard he has set in previous years.

From that perspective, we thought both cards represented strong buys. The Mini-Diamond offered a desirable parallel of an established star at a modest price, while getting a CGC 10 Orange /25 from the same set for only a few dollars more was especially notable.

Same Card, Same Grade, Different Result

We also auctioned three different pairs of identical cards this week, and the results were surprisingly varied:

  1. Konnor Griffin — 2026 Topps Finest Rookie #6 CGC 10 Gem Mint — one reached $25.20, while the other finished at $19.20.
  2. JJ Wetherholt — 2026 Topps Finest Rookie CGC 10 Gem Mint — one reached $25.20, while the other finished at $15.60.
  3. Sean O’Malley — 2026 Topps Now UFC Freedom 250 CGC 10 Gem Mint — one reached $31.20, while the other finished at $25.20.

For collectors who have been following us for a while, you probably already know where we are going with this.

The higher sale in each pairing finished approximately 31%, 62%, and 24% above the lower sale, respectively — all within the same auction.

Bidder timing, who happens to be watching, where a listing falls in extended bidding, and simple competition between buyers can all move identical cards apart.

If identical cards can sell for different prices in the same auction, on the same night, under the same conditions, it becomes even harder to expect a sale from days, months, or years earlier to define exactly what a card is worth today.

That is why we continue to view comps as reference points and ranges, not fixed price tags.

Final Takeaways

Weekly Auction #243 gave us a useful look at how many different factors can shape an auction result.

Junior Caminero clearly separated himself from the field, while the 2026 Finest group gave us a broader look at how collectors valued rookies, parallels, inserts, scarcity, grades, and current player performance within the same release.

The auction also reinforced something we continue to see: card values are rarely as simple as one comp, one grade, or one serial number. Identical slabs finished at noticeably different prices, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s Orange /25 sold for only a few dollars more than his Mini-Diamond Refractor.

Within our own listings, the market also remained accessible, with 59 of the 66 sold listings finishing at $30 or less and a median buyer price of $13.80.

Taken together, this was a week that highlighted just how much player performance, card type, timing, and competition can all influence the final number.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you all for tuning in!
