Our favorite cards to collect (& play) growing up. MLB Showdown was a Baseball TCG game made by Wizards of the Coast, with 2000 being the first year. The game combined traditional baseball card collecting with a TCG aspect that involved setting a lineup and rolling a 20 faced die to determine outcomes. Bonds was the ultimate chase card in this set.

The 2000 MLB Showdown Foil Barry Bonds is one of the more interesting crossover-style baseball cards in this week’s auction. MLB Showdown has its own following among collectors who remember the card game era, and Bonds remains one of the defining names of late-90s and early-2000s baseball.
